FEATURED WORKS

Live edge bathroom vanity

Residential guest bath feature

This project was my first architectural visualization; A hand-drawn sketch can only take you so far for a client to fully understand and appreciate your vision. The client wanted a guest bath vanity to be a highly organic but functional statement piece reflecting their love for southwestern design. We were not able to see the materials before production but needed a way to present a design to the clients in a short amount of time. I have had working knowledge of SketchUp and 3D rendering from a previous job in new home marketing and applied it to furniture design.

Based on the clients’ criteria, we created a 3D model of a live edge mesquite vanity that we used as a working template once we received the materials. The final design changed somewhat from the model due to of the naturally occurring characteristics of the wood that we wanted to highlight. Using SketchUp allowed us to redesign certain parts quickly, saving time and money for everyone.

Historic THEATRE entry door rebuild

paramount theatre

The Paramount Theatre in Austin, Texas requested bids build 10 entry doors out of solid mahogany on the Congress Avenue entrance to the theatre. The major challenge was achieving historical accuracy with our build as the Paramount Theatre is a historical landmark regulated by the Austin Historic Commission. This bidding challenge actually favored Falconman Woodworks compared to the competing firms. We do not use computer-controlled tools and pride ourselves on the ability to recreate the look and feel of solid mahogany, hand-crafted doors, built to fit imperfect mid-century openings and frames. The Paramount entry doors were installed by Falconman in Spring 2019, following a 5-month construction and finishing schedule with painstaking attention to historical accuracy and detail.

Contemporary Minimalist Master Bath

Residential Bathroom Remodel

Being a small business owner, resources are always tight for the company as well as at home. After a series of unfortunate events, the master bath and garage in my home were severely water damaged and in need of total replacement. To save time and money, I decided to be the project lead and design my own master bath.

Using images from the internet and rendering techniques I learned in the video game industry, I was able produce a 1:1 rendering for the contractors to use with most of the desired materials. I am particularly proud of this rendering because it represents the culmination of the skills that I have learned over the years; Not only does it include graphic design and 3D modeling but also represents my minimalist approach to design.
